Wedding Video FAQs
What is your experience as a videographer - years, how many weddings, other clients besides brides and grooms?
I have worked in video production for more than 20 years. I am an engineer with a major TV news station in Denver. I do about 15 weddings a year, along with Bar Mitzvahs and other special events.
What is your shooting style, equipment, editing style?
My shooting style is photo journalistic. My equipment is all very state–of- the art and I use the Sony Vegas 6 NLE editing and DVD authoring software. My editing style is documentary. I use classic production techniques and very little special effects.
How many DVDs will we get?

Do we get the master tape?
You may purchase them at $50.00 each
If we sign with you, are we guaranteed you will be the person shooting our wedding?
I do 100% of the shooting and editing
How do you dress for weddings?
I always dress in a coat and tie. I want to blend in with your guests.
Could you explain a little how you work? How do you coordinate with the wedding DJ, the photographer? How do you work with people at the wedding?
In my job with a major TV station I am out in the public very often and represent a high profile organization. I use those skills in my wedding work. I can provide seamless coverage and deliver a high quality product. I work very well with other vendors.
What would you say is your overall philosophy or style when it comes to shooting weddings?
I want to produce a video that takes you back to that day. I don’t like trendy special effects or hokey editing. I want the video to be a time capsule.
Would you explain what your "typical" wedding video includes? How long are they? Do you do interviews with family and friends? Highlight section? Pre-ceremony preparations footage (with or without sound)? What "special effects" do you use?
I arrive 1.5 hrs before the ceremony and shoot preparations, florists, guests arriving, groom getting ready, bride getting ready, etc. I shoot the entire ceremony with two cameras. One operated by me and the other is stationary (or I can hire a second videographer). I shoot highlights of the reception, all the official elements at the reception, cake cutting, first dance, etc. I can do interviews if you like. I use very little special effects. The video will run 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the length of the ceremony. I can produce a highlight reel, approximately 15-20 minutes in length, for an additional charge. In lieu of a standard package, I can produce just a highlight reel and burn all the raw video to DVD for you.
Do you offer a "love story" video in which the bride and groom talk about how they met, etc?
I can do a love story, this would be an additional cost.
Do you charge by time or stay for the entire wedding and reception?
I Offer 3 and 6 hour packages; $150.00 per hour overtime.
Do you use a wireless mic? Who wears the mic and when?
I have 5 wireless mics. I put one on the groom, one on the minister and place others for the readers and musicians as needed.
If we choose to sign with you, what information do we provide for the contract (agreement)? How much do we pay and when?
Date, time, place, package price and any additional services you may want .A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 will hold the date. The balance is due on or before the wedding day.
Do you bring exterior lighting equipment? How does your camera handle indoor vs. outdoor lighting? Nighttime and low light?
My equipment is low light sensitive. I do have a small on-camera light . It is 20 watts with a diffusion filter.
Do you have packages you offer for weddings, or are your services a la carte? Can you give me information about what you offer for what price?
I charge from $1,150.00 to $1,750.00 the difference being coverage time and DVD authoring
